HBO's Game of Thrones hit a series high in its third week on television. On Sunday, 2.4 million viewers tuned into the 9 p.m. airing of the third episode. Combined with the 11 p.m. encore, a total of 3.1 million viewers tuned in Sunday night, a new record for the series adaptation of the George R.R. Martin novels.
Thrones debuted to 2.2 million viewers for its premiere airing, remaining steady the following week in the ratings. So far, HBO is saying the Thrones premiere has drawn an audience of 8.7 million from linear plays, DVR and HBO On Demand.
